The Inn at Red Hills Review

These spacious and extremely comfortable rooms, each with its own layout, offer plenty of local flavor, from the materials in the building, the wines served, and the ingredients used in the kitchen. The inn works to be sustainable and to use Oregon's bounty, grown in the fields and vineyards seen through many of the large windows. Wide-screen televisions and huge bathrooms add to the amenities.

A huge disappointment. The rooms were nice, and pretty comfortable, but this is no "inn". Check-in is in the entrance to the restaurant in the same complex. Rooms are all on the second level of a new strip-mall looking two-story complex with banking and realty companies on the first level. Clearly they did not rent out the upper floor and so converted it to hotel rooms. The "wine country" view overlooks a busy thoroughfare on one side and a large parking lot in back. Coffee is supposedly served from only 630-730am, but not in the rooms, on the landing by the elevator. They put out out one carafe of coffee to serve 20 over-priced rooms. Guests have to get there first or they're out of luck, forcing patronage of the restaurant downstairs. There is no hospitality or real service, no common area. It's all about paying the rent for the companies on the ground level. Quite a rip-off for what you get. This is the first time I've been so disappointed in a Fodor's recommendation, and wondered if the "inn" wrote the review.
