McLoughlin House National Historic Site

Fodor's Review:

An officer for a fur-trading company, Dr. John McLoughlin lost his job when he forwarded supplies to needy Oregon Trail pioneers, but his presence and deeds in the area are remembered at McLoughlin House National Historic Site, the mansion he moved to with his family in 1846. The site is perhaps the key historic home in the city.
