Willamette Falls Locks

Willamette Falls Locks Review

The Willamette Falls are created where the Willamette River at Oregon City spills 40 feet over a basaltic ridge. The locks were built in the early 1870s to move river traffic around the falls. They are no longer operational and have been designated as a National Treasure by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
