North Willamette Valley

Just outside Portland the suburban areas of Beaverton, Tigard, Hillsboro, and Forest Grove have gorgeous wineries, wetlands, rivers, and nature preserves. In the shadow of Nike headquarters, the area has a wealth of golfing, bicycling, and trails for running and hiking. From its wetlands to the residential neighborhoods, it's not unusual to spot red-tail hawks, beavers, and ducks on your route. Shopping, fine dining, and proximity to Portland make this a great area in which to begin your exploration of the Willamette Valley and the wine country.
