Fodor's Review

This rustic outpost in the woods above Port Orford blends all the comforts and privacy of a vacation rental with the services of a resort. Five vaulted-ceiling cabins, in a natural clearing of 100-foot Douglas Firs, have separate sleeping and living areas, adorned with collectibles from the owners' days trolling Hollywood estate sales, matched with earth-toned bathroom mosaics, deep love seats, and comfortable throws. It's a great base for hiking the mountains and coastline,

or for a relaxing getaway. Wander secluded paths through meditation gardens, where ceramics reward a closer look, then order wine and a massage in your room, or visit the deep spa. A communal guesthouse with wraparound porch overlooking the Pacific is available for the daily buffet breakfast, to prepare food, or to play games.
