Hatfield Marine Science Center

Hatfield Marine Science Center Review

Interactive and interpretive exhibits at Oregon State University appeal to the kid in everyone. The star of the show is a large octopus in a touch tank near the entrance. She seems as interested in human visitors as they are in her; guided by a staff volunteer, you can sometimes reach in to stroke her suction-tipped tentacles. But more than just showcasing sea life, the center holds programs and classes that teach the importance of scientific research in managing and sustaining coastal and marine resources.
