Flavel House

Fodor's Review:

The prim Flavel House was built between 1884 and 1886. Its Victorian-era furnishings, including six handcrafted fireplace mantels carved from different hardwoods and accented with tiles imported from Asia and Europe, yield insight into the lifestyle of a wealthy 19th-century shipping tycoon. Visits start in the Carriage House interpretive center.
