Oregon Coast Sights

Chetco Valley Historical Museum

Chetco Valley Historical Museum Review

The Chetco Valley Historical Museum, inside a mid-19th-century stagecoach stop and trading post, has some unusual items and is worth a brief visit. An iron casting that bears a likeness to Queen Elizabeth I has led to speculation that it was left during an undocumented landing on the Oregon coast by Sir Francis Drake. On a hill near the museum stands the World Champion Cypress Tree, 99 feet tall and with a 27-foot circumference.
