Clemente's
Clemente's Review
Serving possibly the best seafood on the Oregon Coast, chefs Gordon and Lisa Clement are making a significant critical and popular splash in Astoria. Grounded in Mediterranean cuisine from Italy and the Adriatic Coast, Clemente's inventive specials feature the freshest catches of that day. From succulent sea-bass salad to a hearty sturgeon sandwich—meals are dished up for reasonable prices. Dungeness crab cakes stuffed with crab rather than breading, and wild scallop fish-and-chips liven up a varied menu. Not interested in fish? Try the spaghetti with authentic meatballs.

My husband and I were very disappointed with this restaurant and totally surprised that it was a Fodor's "choice." I would guess you have not visited there recently.
We arrived at 8:15 per our reservation. The table was not ready although we noticed there were several empty tables. The live music that was playing as we entered, stopped 5 minutes later and never resumed.
The salads we ordered were very good, but the entrees were surprisingly poor and even tasteless.
The service was even worse than the food. We had to flag down our server to get anything we wanted.
I would definitely not recommend this restaurant for any reason and certainly hope that you will take it off your recommended list. -

Firstly, the address is not 1335 Marine, but rather:
1198 Commercial Street, Astoria, OR 97103-4126
(503) 325-1067 ?

We went to 1335 Marine and walked right out.
All in all, the experience was enjoyable. Fodor's Choice has never gone wrong in the past, and this time it was no exception. The restaurant itself was a little more chic than the description lends one to believe, but not stuffy by any means. Several of the menu items stood out: the Poke, the Yam fries, the Salmon Burger and the Crab melt. The oysters and the seafood cocktail were only 'alright'. Additionally, the restauran't ketchup is home-made and tastes more like cocktail sauce, than ketchup. Nevertheless, the items mentioned above were fantastic and the service was excellent. The proprietor even came out after the meal (it was lunch) and asked how we thought the meal was. If you're going to be in the area, it's a great meal. -

We have never gone wrong following the Fodor's guide during our travel especially for dining suggestions. Clemente's review by Fodor's was exceptional and we had very high expectations. Our minds were blown away with the beautiful atmosphere, the personal kind service, the wine list, and the quality and careful preparation of the freshest, most innovative dishes of our entire trip. Every plate we ordered was beautiful and prepared from ingredients gathered within miles of the restaurant. We even saw the chef's fisherman brother carefully carrying in the whole wild salmon straight from the net to the kitchen! Of course we ordered the Spring Chinook Special which was the best single meal I have ever eaten in my life and we have eaten in the most praised restaurants all over the world. Oregon is very lucky to have a restaurant with the passion to give their customers the very freshest farm to table food prepared with passion you can feel and taste! We suggest making Clemente's a destination, we can't wait to return!

Wow! This place is fabulous! We live in Astoria, but when we want to go somewhere special, this is where we go! From fabulous gluten-free fish and chips to sushi-grade ahi tuna salad, everything is wonderful and prepared by hand by the owners. They focus on local and fresh seafood and they know what they are doing (one of the owner's comes from a local fishing family!). Seasonal menu and a great drink and wine list that actually describe the libations are much appreciated. They have played a great part in putting Astoria on the map!
