Reedsport

The small town of Reedsport owes its existence to the Umpqua River, one of the state's great steelhead-fishing streams. Hikers appreciate the picturesque, quiet hiking trails that wander through the forest, onto the dunes, and through the beach grass to the beaches. As in Florence to the north, there are plenty of ATV and dune-buggy riders on the dunes. The area is also a favorite of campers and nature lovers who watch herds of majestic elk in the Deer Creek Preserve.
