Fodor's Review

Secluded and refined, this upscale resort in a hillside forest preserve has long been revered as a luxury weekend getaway as well as a destination for tony corporate retreats, with plenty of reasons to stay on the property. The resort is one of the first by renowned Oregon architect John Gray. The spa is outstanding and there are various dining venues perfect for brunch, a casual bite after golf, or a polished, white-linen dining experience. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and toasty with wood-burning fireplaces. Each has a balcony and original artwork by Northwest artists. The par-71 golf course, redesigned by Oregon links legend Peter Jacobsen, is one of the coast's finest.
