The Columbia Gorge and Mt. Hood Area Sights

Fruit Loop

Fruit Loop Review

Either by car or bicycle, tour the quiet country highways of Hood River Valley, whose vast orchards surround the river. You'll see apples, pears, cherries, and peaches fertilized by volcanic soil, pure glacier water, and a conducive harvesting climate. Along the 35 miles of farms are a host of outlets for delicious baked goods, wines, flowers, and nuts. Festive farm activities from April to November also give a taste of the agricultural life. While on the loop, consider stopping at the town of Parkdale to lunch, shop, and snap a photo of Mt. Hood's north face.
