Fodor's Review:

Below Bonneville Dam, the ponds at the Bonneville Fish Hatchery teem with fingerling salmon, fat rainbow trout, and 6-foot-long sturgeon. The hatchery raises chinook and coho salmon; from mid-October to late November you can watch as staff members spawn the fish, beginning a new hatching cycle, or feed the trout with food pellets from a coin-operated machine.

  • Cost: Free
  • Open: Hatchery grounds daily dawn-dusk, spawning room daily. Winter hrs are 7:30-4:30, summer hrs are 7:30-7:30
