Sophisticated but affordable Blondie's serves globally inspired food and cocktails in a dapper downtown space with high ceilings and hardwood floors—the lone aesthetic drawback is the sometimes boisterous acoustics. The kitchen, however, prepares first-rate food, including an especially good list of starters, from Portuguese-style steamed clams with herbed sausage to a substantial Mediterranean antipasto platter. Cedar plank–grilled wild coho salmon and the innovative Kung Pao chicken spaghetti rank among the better main courses. Live bands perform some nights.
