Three dimly lit dining rooms with blue walls and striped upholstery invite those with healthy pocketbooks. The specialty here is 28-day, dry-aged, certified Angus beef, but chops, ribs, and chicken entrées are also cooked in the open kitchen. The chateaubriand for two is carved tableside. Seafood lovers might want to try the tomato fennel bouillabaisse. Service is impeccable at this Seattle transplant in the elegant Benson Hotel. Each night live Latin guitar music serenades the dinner guests.

We stumbled across El Gaucho and was pleasantly surprised! The interior was quintessential steak house decor (dark wood, black leather booths, white table cloths, intimate lighting). The steaks were outstanding, particularly the baseball cut top sirloin. The prices were a bit steep, but for a special occasion, it is worth it. We will come again!
