The Heathman Review

Chef Philippe Boulot revels in fresh ingredients of the Pacific Northwest. His menu changes with the season and includes entrées made with grilled and braised fish, fowl, veal, lamb, and beef. Among the chef's Northwest specialties are a delightful Dungeness crab, mango, and avocado salad and paella made with mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops, and chorizo. Equally creative choices are available for breakfast and lunch. The dining room, scented with wood smoke and adorned with Andy Warhol prints, is a favorite for special occasions.

    Great for Our Last Night

    We had breakfast there twice, both times were excellent. Dinner there was equally good. Innovative presentation of the entrees.

    Keeping Up Its Reputation

    For a restaurant with a long history of excellent and innovative cuisine in Portland, we were surprised that the reputation of the Heathman Restaurant is holding up. We had breakfast and brunch there recently and can report that both meals were very good, fresh and innovative examples of Northwest cuisine with excellent, helpful service.
