Laurelhurst Park

Laurelhurst Park Review

Completed in 1914, resplendent Laurelhurst Park is evocative of another time, and gives you the urge to don a parasol. It's no wonder that it was the first park to be put on the National Register of Historic Places. Take a stroll around the large spring-fed pond (granted, a bit murky with algae) and keep an eye out for blue heron, the city's official bird. On the south side of this 26-acre park is one of the busiest basketball courts in town. Though the park is always beautiful, it is especially so in fall. Good for: Basketballers, Dog Lovers, Anglers, Picnickers, Runners, Nappers, Lovers, Volleyballers, Horseshoe Players.
