Departure Restaurant + Lounge

Departure Restaurant + Lounge Review

This swanky rooftop restaurant and lounge on the penthouse floor of The Nines luxury hotel would be more at home in Los Angeles or Miami. The ultramodern interior has an extravagant, space-age cruise ship feel, and the outdoor patio, furnished with low, white couches and bright orange tables and chairs, offers panoramic views of the downtown cityscape. The pan Asian dishes, which include sushi, dim sum, grilled meat and vegetable skewers, and wok-fried noodle and rice dishes, are served in small portions and can be hit or miss. But the food isn't the primary reason to visit; go for the lush atmosphere and the view. It's the best place in Portland to escape Portland.
