Pok Pok & Whiskey Soda Lounge
Pok Pok & Whiskey Soda Lounge Review
Serving thoroughly researched Southeast Asian street fare, Pok Pok takes taste buds on wild culinary adventures that leave them burning and craving more. The Vietnamese chicken wings, deep fried in carmelized fish sauce and garlic, are legendary in Portland and a must-try. Other favorites include the namesake green papaya salad with Thai chili, lime juice, fish sauce, tamarind, dried shrimp, and peanuts and the curry coconut milk soup with pickled mustard greens, crispy yellow noodles, shallots, and roasted chili paste. Share plates for the liveliest culinary experience. Diners have the option of sitting outside under tents, or in the funky, cave-like interior. The affiliated Whiskey Soda Lounge (across the street at 3131 SE Division Street), is both a Pok Pok waiting area and restaurant in its own right and offers a full bar and a limited Pok Pok menu. Rest assured, you can get the wings there, too. Part of the Pok Pok mini-empire, Pok Pok Noi (Little Pok Pok) is an excellent alternative if you're Downtown.
