Andy Ricker, the owner of one of Portland's most talked-about restaurants, regularly travels to Southeast Asia to research street food and home-style ecipes to include on the menu of this always-hopping spot. Ike's Vietnamese chicken wings, deep-fried in caramelized fish sauce and garlic, are legendary. Other favorites include the namesake green papaya salad and the charcoal-roasted game hen. The menu is designed for sharing, and some dishes are quite fiery—discuss your
preferences with the knowledgeable staff before ordering. Diners have the option of sitting outside under tents, or in the funky, cavelike interior. Across the street, sister space Whiskey Soda Lounge is both a Pok Pok waiting area and restaurant in its own right, with a full bar and a limited Pok Pok menu. The Pok Pok mini empire includes Pok Pok Noi in the funky Alberta District and Sen Yai noodle house, a few blocks east of the original Pok Pok on Division.
