Fodor's Review

This retro-glam 1912 boutique hotel with its original chandeliers, gilded ceilings, black and white photography (arranged by movie themes), heavy drapes, and hip cocktail lounge evokes Hollywood's Golden Era, but with welcome modern touches like flatscreen TVs, free WiFi, and iPod docks. Rooms are appropriately luxe for a hotel named "deLuxe," with elegant earth-tones, plush beds, an extensive pillow menu, and iPods preprogrammed with cool playlists. For the epitome of

luxe, try the Marlene Dietrich Suite, with its eight-foot circular bed, crystal lamps, and gorgeous views. Other amenities include a spiritual lending library with a variety of books on faith, and a collection of DVDs that includes all the classics (Casablanca, anyone?). The bartenders in the cozy 1950s-style Driftwood Room lounge serve up mean craft cocktails and attract a lively local scene.
