Hotel Monaco Review

Constructed in 1912, this building originally served as Lipman Wolfe, an upscale downtown department store. In 1996 the historic building reopened as a 221-suite luxury boutique hotel, and in 2007 new ownership completed a $4 million upgrade to the property. A tall vestibule with a marble mosaic floor leads to the art-filled lobby, where guests gather by the fireplace for an early-evening glass of wine or a morning cup of coffee. Upholstered chairs, fringed ottomans, and other appointments in the sitting areas will make you feel right at home (or wish you had one like this). Downstairs in the lobby is the Dosha Spa.
