One of the most unique hotel experiences in the city, Inn at Northrup Station is one of the most Portland-y hotels you’ll find in Portland. With bright colors, retro-chic furnishings, and plenty of original artwork by local artists, this hotel is a can’t-miss if you’re looking for a travel experience with true Portland flair.

Tip There’s a Portland Streetcar stop located directly outside of Inn at Northrup Station that will take you right to downtown - and complimentary tickets are included with your stay. Just ask at the front desk!

Room

If there’s one word to describe the rooms at Inn at Northrup Station, its bright. Lime green, purple, and hot pink are just some of the colors you’ll find splashed across the walls of this hotel. Wall color aside, the suites at Inn at Northrup Station have a retro-chic flair, plenty of space, and private decks and patios.


You Should Know While all the suites have a kitchenette, only the King suites have a full kitchen. So if you’re planning on doing any cooking during your stay, make sure you book the right kind of room.

Bathroom

The bathrooms are fairly spacious with plenty of counter space (although the fluorescent pink walls can be a bit jarring).

Lobby

The lobby is the heart and soul of Inn at Northrup Station. Bright and colorful, the area features a selection of work from Portland-based artists and hosts events for guests most nights during the week.

Dining

A complimentary continental breakfast featuring breakfast staples as well as locally-sourced favorites is included with your stay (breakfast is served from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on weekdays and 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekends).

Drinking

Inn at Northrup Inn hosts complimentary tastings in the lobby on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Stop by and sample local wines on Wednesdays and beers from local craft breweries on Thursdays.

Getting Around

As mentioned, when you walk out of the door of Inn at Northrup Station you have access to the Portland Streetcar, which is great for getting around the city. If you do bring a car, there is free parking, but it’s on a first-come-first-served basis.

Restaurants

For brunch, try The Fireside (9-minute walk), which boasts an impressive menu of breakfast staples - like french toast, veggie hash, and biscuits and gravy - made using fresh local ingredients. Also be sure to check out Tara Thai Northwest (6-minute walk), a family-owned Thai restaurant with some of the best curries in the city.

Bars

For wine enthusiasts, Taste on 23rd (9-minute walk) is a great place to sample local wines (make sure to stop by on Thursdays, when Taste on 23rd hosts local Willamette Valley wineries and winemakers for complimentary tastings). If you’re more in the mood for a beer, try The Abbey Bar & Bottle Shop (6-minute walk), which specializes in Belgians and Belgian-style beers (and often features brews you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere in the States).
