You definitely won't find finer soul food in Portland. At first glance, Bernie's may seem fairly expensive for the cuisine, but then, this food is in a different realm from that of your garden variety fried chicken. Restaurant specialties include crisp fried green tomatoes, crawfish, and catfish, in addition to delectable fried chicken, collard greens, and black-eyed peas. The inside of the restaurant is painted in warm oranges, and the lush outdoor patio is a Portland favorite.
