Mark Spencer Hotel Review

This family-owned hotel, centrally located near Powell's Books, is one of the best values in town and the rooms, which all have full kitchenettes, are clean and comfortable. A major supporter of local arts, the hotel offers special packages that include tickets to the Artists Repertory Theatre, Portland Opera, Oregon Symphony, Portland Art Museum, and Center Stage.

    Mark Spencer Review

Great location, great amenities, and a very friendly and accommodating staff. We were delighted to have such a spacious room (complete with kitchenette) considering the rate. Parking is not free (which is typical for a small urban hotel, in my experience) and the complimentary breakfast is simple; but on the other hand the hotel offers both an afternoon tea and a wine-and-cheese hour (with decent wine!) on a daily basis at no charge. One tip: We specifically requested a room away from street noise after reading that this might be an issue. The management carefully noted this, and the room they gave us was subject to no noticeable outside noise.
