As trendy eateries have come and gone in downtown Portland over the years, this long-standing local favorite has continued to excel as both a charming weekend brunch option and a lively, see-and-be-seen dinner spot. The beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the Hawthorne Bridge is an oasis of roses, fuchsias, and hanging begonia baskets. The menu emphasizes fresh, flavorful produce and seafood, and the 200-plus wine list is one of the best in town. The convivial bar, with its deep wooden booths, is a laid-back spot for drinks and lighter fare, including outstanding beef and veggie burgers.

This is a really good restaurant with good food, service, and wine list. Tends to be a bit noisy so, if you can put together a group of 6 or 8, you can reserve the lower level wine cellar and get a great meal a decent noise level.
