Fodor's Expert Review Irving Street Kitchen
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
You might come to this hip Pearl District restaurant set inside a gorgeously transformed warehouse building just because you heard about the rich butterscotch pudding with roasted-banana caramel and peanut butter bonbons (it's available to go, sold in its own adorable canning jar); but chances are, once you see the exposed-brick-and-wood-beam walls, Edison bulb chandeliers, inviting central bar, and patio seats on a converted loading dock, you'll want to stay. And you'll be glad you did, as the well-executed Southern-influenced American dinner and brunch fare—including panfried soft-shell crab, organic fried chicken, and country ham with biscuits—is superb. Wines by the glass are dispensed from state-of-the-art taps, ensuring freshness.
