This delightful neighborhood café—one of the most outstanding brunch spots in town—serves fresh and delicious Scandinavian food with fun-to-pronounce names like friterade applen (apple fritter) and aebleskivers (Danish pancakes). All of the food—the hashes, the baked egg scrambles, the Swedish breakfast bords—is delicious. The Swedish meatballs and egg, shrimp, and chicken salads are also excellent midday choices. The light and narrow space, decorated with rustic modern furniture and accented with white tile and mirrors, has a laid-back and friendly vibe. Though you'll likely have to wait for a table at breakfast, the café serves complimentary coffee and borrows seating from adjacent sister restaurant, Savoy, which opens later in the day. Owner Peter Bro opened a second location, Broder Nord, in North Portland in 2014; that branch also has dinner service.
