This airy, high-ceiling space on trendy Division Street showcases the inventive techniques and dedication to freshness of chef Trent Pierce, who also operates a stellar reservations-only prix-fixe restaurant, Roe, in a small space reached through Block + Tackle's dining room. Offering a conventional à la carte approach, this scene-y seafood spot has a large central communal table, several tables to one side, a long bar, and a large chalkboard menu listing the day's specials and local oysters. Try Dungeness crab Louie with deviled egg and avocado, or the grilled-mackerel sandwich with honey mustard, caraway butter, pickles, and capers. The small-plates portions are designed for sharing.
