Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge

Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge Review

Established in 1936 as a home for remaining antelope herds, the 270,000-acre Hart Mountain National Antelope Refuge, surrounding Hart Mountain, provides a haven for the fastest land animal in North America, as well as more than 300 other species, including myriad birds, bighorn sheep, and coyotes. Camping, biking, horseback riding, and fishing are all permitted in designated areas, and hiking is encouraged throughout the refuge.
