Old St. Francis School Review

This charming outpost is a restored 1936 Catholic schoolhouse converted to a destination village, with classrooms turned lodging quarters, restaurant and bars, brewery, stage, soaking pool, and movie theater with couches and food and beer service. For a place that exudes a laid-back charm, the property never lets you forget that it used to be a Catholic school. Enjoy the murals and the vintage photographs, and be sure to pick up the walking-tour primer, which explains why, for example, one mural depicts Catholic school kids releasing monarch butterflies. Old St. Francis also rents four nearby cottages that sleep 2 to 10 people.
