Des Chutes Historical Museum

Des Chutes Historical Museum Review

Originally built as a schoolhouse in 1914 from locally quarried volcanic tuff, the museum is operated by the Deschutes County Historical Society. Exhibits depict historical life in the area, including a pioneer schoolroom complete with studious children, native artifacts, and relics from the logging, ranching, homesteading, and railroading eras. Outdoor heritage walks are conducted in the summer.
