High Desert Museum
High Desert Museum Review
The West was truly wild, and this combo museum/zoo proves it. Kids will love the up close and personal encounters with gila monsters, snakes, lizards, Ochoco the bobcat, and Snowshoe the synx. Actors in costume take part in the "Living History" series, where you can chat with stagecoach drivers, boomtown widows, pioneers, and homesteaders. With 53,000 indoor square feet, a quarter-mile trail, and an additional 32,000 square feet of outdoor exhibits and live animal habitats, it's no wonder that the museum sells admission tickets that cover a two-day visit.

Bendormom, from Bend, Oregon
My family loves this museum and we visit often. There's always something new going on. We love the animals and my kids love to interact with the pioneers back at the ranch homestead. The mix of history, science, animals and kids' activities offers something for every age of our family.
PS: the admission is for one day only now, not two.
