Museum at Warm Springs

Museum at Warm Springs Review

The Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation created this museum south of town to preserve their traditions and keep their legacy alive. On display are tribal heirlooms, beaded artifacts, baskets, historic photographs, ceramics, and traditional dwellings. This haul is the product of years of carefully planned collecting and curating, and is seen as a model tribal-run cultural resource. The museum's buildings, with such unmistakable nods to tribal history as conical, tepee-like atriums and sleek modernist lines, received an award from the American Institute of Architects. The museum's gift shop sells Native American crafts, from baskets to beadwork.
