When to Go

Peak Season: March to October

Spring in Oklahoma typically offers idyllic temperatures, often bringing bathing suits and Jet Skis out of storage well before Memorial Day. The same can be said for tornadoes; however, travelers can depend on Oklahoma’s media and National Weather Service Laboratory in Norman to keep the public informed. Summers are generally hot and breezy, with stunning sunsets and somewhat cooler evenings. Warm days often extend into October with consecutive weeks of Indian summer.

Off Season: November to February

Late autumn can be a bit rainy, but stunning fall foliage is worth it. Winters are generally mild with only occasional snow, and temperatures usually range from the 20s to low 50s.

Shoulder Season: There is no true shoulder season in Oklahoma. When children are in school, outdoors enthusiasts are out in force, enjoying Oklahoma’s temperate weather, which is perfect for a plethora of sports and recreational activities.
