Connected to the Columbus Convention Center, Columbus's first and bigger Hyatt is a modern 20-story glass-and-concrete structure. Business-class rooms have a desk and a fax machine. Close to both Downtown offices and the entertainment options in the Short North and Arena District, the hotel works for travelers on business and those there on pleasure.

I travel a great deal on business and really must say that at the rates charged here, you really should do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. The place is just dreary and down beaten. The room decor is depressing...all browns and typical Hyatt no-taste furnishings. Also, my particular room was frightening in terms of stains on carpets --even bedding! We did eat in the dining room on the second level and were pleasantly surprised that the food
was really very good. Unfortuantely nothing in this place would indicate that that was going to be the taste. I'm no fan of Hyatt but they really should do something about this one.
