Graeter's Review

The true test of any ice cream brand is the vanilla, where there are no candy pieces to hide behind; Graeter's is superb, a deliciously creamy yet light blend. The chocolate chip improves it by adding huge slabs of dark chocolate. The full rainbow of flavors is available, including seasonal favorites like peach. The neighborhood ice cream parlor has multiple locations, including a dozen in Cincinnati and many others in Kentucky, Indiana, Dayton, and Columbus. Get in the inevitable line and start pondering your choices.

    Graeter's Review

    I've never understood the rabid loyalty to Graeter's when Aglamesi's in Oakley is so much better and more authentically old fashioned. Except for when they have a specialty seasonal ice cream (pumpkin comes to mind), I see no reason to make a special trek to Graeter's; besides, they don't even use real whipped cream on their sundaes. In comparison, a trip to Aglamesi's is a special treat especially when you choose to dine in the Belle Epoque atmosphere.

    Quite simply, the best ice cream anywhere

    I have eaten ice cream all over the world, including the homemade ice creams of the purported two ice cream capitals: New York City and Philadelphia. In my opinion, no one has better ice cream than Graeter's. Glad they've spread out to other cities. I remember when the only place outside Cincinnati where you could find Graeter's was at Bloomingdales in NYC.

    My personal favorites are: seasonal flavors: strawberry chip and pumpkin pie with their homemade whipped cream.
    Favorite treat: Turtle Sundae in waffle bowl.
