If you're set on sleeping within the park, be sure to pack your tent. Outside the park are mostly small chain hotels catering to interstate travelers—largely retired couples in RVs and young families in minivans. However, there are a handful of historic properties and working ranches that offer guests a truly Western experience. It's usually a good idea to book ahead during summer months.
