Fodor's Review

This folksy, friendly mountain inn on 50 acres above Bryson City is the kind of place where you can rock, doze, catch up on reading, and play Scrabble. The all-you-can-eat meals (breakfast included in most rates, dinner packages available) are prepared with regional foods and served family-style on lazy Susans at big round tables. Rooms are close to basic, and in warm weather the little portable air-conditioners don't quite do the job. Rates are affordable, starting at

$144 double with breakfast. Be aware that the Hemlock Inn has somewhat of a religious atmosphere, with no alcohol served or permitted in public areas and grace often said at meals.
