Fodor's Review

The Swag sits at 5,000 feet, high atop the Cataloochee Divide, with its 250 wooded acres bordering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and with guest rooms and cabins assembled from authentic log structures and transported here. All rooms have exposed beams and wood floors and are furnished with early-American crafts. Dinners here are social events, with hors d'oeuvres, conversation, and an option of family-style or individual seating. Many ingredients are from local

farms. Rates begin at $495 double per night, plus 11% tax and 15% service, with meals included. Bring your own wine and other alcoholic beverages, as the inn is in a dry area. Although there's no swimming pool, there's a small pond on the grounds, a sauna, and an outdoor hot tub with great views. For sports buffs there's a racquetball court and a court for wallyball (a kind of ricochet volleyball). Wi-fi and satellite radio provided. You can hike on the grounds or simply walk into the Smokies.
