Named after an early-maturing tomato variety, Early Girl Eatery is casually Southern, with a cheerfully natural twist. A wall of south-facing windows provides wonderful light most of the day. Early Girl partners with about two dozen local farms for its farm-to-table cuisine. Breakfast is served all day and includes stacks of multigrain pancakes with organic maple syrup, shrimp and grits, and sausage and sweet potato scramble. At lunch and dinner, go for the sandwiches
or try the "meat and two" option that includes a main dish such as sautéed local trout with pecan butter or pan-fried free-range chicken, served with a fresh-made biscuit and your choice of a selection of sides such as ginger cole slaw, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. There's often a wait at breakfast; reservations are usually accepted for dinner only.
