Fodor's Review:

On a 42-acre Natural Heritage site, the WNC Nature Center is one of the region's most popular attractions for kids. It's basically a zoo focusing on animals native to the region, with cougars, bobcats, black bears, white-tailed deer, gray and red wolves, and gray and red foxes in natural-like settings. The center also has an excellent area on native reptiles and amphibians, plus a petting zoo.

  • Cost: $7
  • Open: Daily 10-5
