Botanical Gardens at Asheville

Fodor's Review:

Adjoining the University of North Carolina at Asheville campus, this 10-acre site has walking trails and displays of native plants, including a bog with carnivorous plants such as Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, and sundew. It's a fine place for a picnic, and not far from the busy downtown.

  • Cost: Free
  • Open: Daily dawn-dusk
