With a stone staircase in the entry hall, colorful gardens, richly toned chestnut paneling, and High Country-style chestnut-bark siding, it's no wonder that this manor-style house in the heart of Blowing Rock gets many return guests. You're likely to appreciate the attention to detail: the European and American antiques blended with contemporary art and the all-hours butler's pantry. All rooms have fireplaces, and some have private balconies. A two-night minimum is required
on weekends. The Best Cellar restaurant ($$$$), which relocated here after a fire in its original location, is excellent.
