Fodor's Review

In 1915 Savannah resident Lucy Molz built a second home on Lake Toxaway, a Swiss-style mansion that is now a luxurious inn listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Rooms have antiques or period reproductions, while suites are more modern and border the lake. As a guest, you can enjoy the private lake, golf club, tennis, swimming pool, and small spa. Rates include breakfast and dinner, afternoon tea and cake, and cocktails.

Perfect Location

Second time at the Greystone. There is a new kitchen staff, new chef and pastry chef, and it shows, greatly improved. The waitstaff is very young and inexperienced but they do try very hard. The grounds are lovely, the lake is gorgeous. The rooms, I stayed at the newer Cooper room, was done on the cheap and already shows its age. The 17% service charge on the room rate means that after taxes and service the $500 room rate is $620..double occupancy..

I was charged an extra $140 per night for my two 9 year olds..even though my large room had a sofa bed..bringing the nightly rate to $800..ouch!

Fresh Air & Heaven-level Perfection!

Happy birds sang my son and I a good morning "hello" from our Hillmont spacious room. The 5-star quality food of aristocracy, the attending angels listening for even a whisper of our wants, and the breathtaking view and fresh air made for one of life's "too amazing" experiences. Ask for the upside down orange cheesecake! Whatever your state of mind when you arrive, anticipate the heights of "smitten" when you leave.
