Haywood Park Hotel Review
Location is the main draw of this refurbished, all-suite downtown hotel, which is within walking distance of many of Asheville's shops, restaurants, and galleries. The Haywood Park Hotel at one time was the site of a Bon Marché and Ivey's department store. The hotel gives a nod to its history with mannequins and announcements on the elevator like "Fourth Floor, Women's Clothing." A player piano makes music in the lobby. The suites are spacious, with 43-inch flat-screen TVs and large bathrooms in Spanish marble. There's a small shopping galleria in the atrium and a sidewalk café. Lots of extras, from a glass of champagne at check-in to a gift bag at check-out.
