Wood-fired thin-crust pizza made from organic flour is the specialty here, and besides the more usual options, West First also serves potato pizza (with a thin topping of new potatoes and rosemary rather than tomato sauce) and roasted-salmon pizza. It also has Italian dishes like eggplant parmigiana and house-made fennel sausage in a marinara sauce. The main dining room is a large rectangle, anchored at the far end by the open oven blazing away. Dominating one side of the room are two large, striking paintings, portraits inspired by the owner's grandparents. There is also a dining area in a covered patio outside, and a second-level loft.
