Fodor's Review

Touch a stingray, look a shark in the eye, or see a rare white sea turtle at various exhibits featuring marine and coastal animals. Exhibits include river otters; a touch pool with live horseshoe crabs; and a 306,000-gallon, 64-foot-long tank containing tiger sharks and hundreds of fish that swim around the replica of a German submarine sunk off the North Carolina coast in 1942. There's a large selection of programs, walks, and excursions. Learn to cook seafood or kayak the Theodore Roosevelt Natural Area. Kids will love seeing the aquarium menagerie getting fed or spending a night at a slumber party in front of the Living Shipwreck exhibit. The Birds in Flight program features live owls, hawks, falcons, and other shorebirds, some of which fly overhead during the indoor show.
