Fodor's Review

An institution in the Cape Fear region (there are also locations in Wrightsville Beach, Boone, Chapel Hill, and Wilmington), this long, narrow hot-dog joint is known for various wieners, all with individual names, and 13 choices of toppings. The North Carolina comes with chili, slaw, and mustard. The Surfer Dog is topped with cheese and vegetarian bacon bits. For the health conscious and allergy-afflicted, there are also gluten-free buns, vegetarian or fat-free dogs and

other sandwiches.
