American Patriots not only ambushed charging Loyalists on this site on February 27, 1776, but they also seized the equivalent of $1 million in British sterling. At the museum, a 10-minute film shot on the site tells the story of this battle, which is reenacted by professional actors each year. See the film before walking a two-mile interpretive trail lining the battlefield. Exhibits also fill the visitor center, and the 85-acre park is a wildlife habitat. The site is 20
miles northwest of Wilmington on Route 210.
