Fodor's Review

The Georgian style house General Cornwallis used as his headquarters in April 1781 was built in 1770 on the foundations of a jail. After a fine, furnished restoration, this colonial gentleman's town house is now a museum that includes seven distinct period gardens and an 18th century dungeon.
